I volunteered to help a friend upgrade the memory and SSD in their Yoga 460. I've worked on a lot of older ThinkPads, and the HMM made it look pretty easy. But when it says "pry" off the bottom cover, they are not kidding!
Unfortunately I'd misplaced my spudgers, so I used an old credit card to help pry the cover off. In the process I broke one of the clips near the power connector. I think I pushed the credit card inward a little too hard.
The machine went back together OK, but of course there is now a tiny gap where that clip isn't holding it.
My friend treats computers fairly roughly and may not care, but it's bugging me a bit.
I should have looked more closely before putting the machine back together, but now I don't remember whether the clip I broke off is part of the base cover or part of the piece it snaps onto (the keyboard bezel?).
Would anyone happen to know? If the clip was part of the base cover it would be pretty easy to get a new one and replace it. Thanks!
