i75500u temps yoga 12

Hello everyone,

i have a lovely thinkpad yoga 12 equipped with a i75500 bought used.

During office editing and internet browsing I noticed cpu temperatures close to 80°C (40 in Idle).

I opened the back cover of the pc and cleaned all the dust I found, but temps are still way close to 80/85 during light working.

I wonder if it is normal or its time to call for assistance.

Some feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Tom

I would guess the thermal paste has dried out and needs to be replaced

Re: i75500u temps yoga 12

In most of the Lenovo system's BIOS, there is a setting called ICE that related to fan cooling. It can be set to ambient, performance, and max. Make sure this setting is not on ambient, which means to keep the fans at low speed and lower noise levels. If the issue isn't related to this than it's probably best to have the system serviced.

Re: i75500u temps yoga 12

Hello guys, thanks for the replies.

I checked the bios but i couldnt find any fan setting; i also updated the bios to the last release.

I'm monitoring the cpu temps but in 5 minutes and just a tab opened, there is already a max value of 75C°.

Yesterday i run few benchmark and luckily i never reached temps above 83C° (no errors, freezes or any trouble).

ps: sorry for my crap english, its not my first language

Tom

What are you using to measure the temperatures?

Re: i75500u temps yoga 12

hey,

im using realtemp and HWmonitor .

Btw, it seems that after updating the bios, and letting him settle a bit, the temps are now fine.

With several tabs opened and a running installation, the cpu has a 37c° value.

i won't say again...but it could be solved!
