problem with Thinkpad Yoga screen

2014-05-15, 11:45 AM

Some days ago I received a new Thinkpad Yoga. My problem is that the screen is not manufactured very well. The left bottom corner is ~ 1 mm standing out of the case. It seems that it is not glued very well. If I press the corner into it it remains there for some time. But after some minutes it rises again. It's not so large but I can lift it with my finger nails.

After having a phone call with Lenovo support they told me that the dealer is responsible to replace it. My dealer tells me that Lenovo has to handle this.

What should I do? Nobody feels responsible? Is there a special glue available so that I fix it myself?

don't repair it yourself, you need to get it replaced.

well, I thought they would need to do that. but Lenovo support just told me that they are not responsible to "repair" or replace such flaws. They do this only in the case of defects.

I'm really angry. I paid EUR 1600 for this pc. EVen more than for different apple notebooks. And I don't think that I would have those troubles with Apple. Lenovo was always a product for business users, I'm very disappointed ...

Hi I have a sililar proble but with the top part of the screen - top right- where there is a gap. If I pinch it it closes but then opens once the pressure is gone. Lenova said that the screen housing is not glued but has clips inbedded which hold the two parts together.  My warranty is still ok until Jan 2015 so I'll see how it is and should it get worse send it in before it expires otherwise I'm ok with it.

well, then I wish good luck to you! Lenovo support denied twice to handle my request. then I was at a local Lenovo service center. There they also said that they can't do anything for me ...
