Are these Temps okay?

2013-03-19, 23:50 PM

Hi!

I just wanted to ask if the temps on my Thinkpad T430s are ok.

When me t430s is idle and i'm onb my windows 7 desktop the temperature of the cores is around 40-43 C.

When i fully load the cores with Prime95 the temperature of the cores are over 80 C. I would say it would go above 90C if i would let it run for a long time.

Do you think these temps are ok?!

Is there a difference in fan volume and temperature of the cpu if i switch to a different mode in the lenovo energy manager. And what temps do you consider as normal?! If i choose the maximum power mode the maximum idle temps are 45 c on one and 49 c on the other core..

Hi theone

There may be a difference of temperature and fan volume if you change the Power Plan in Lenovo Power Manager. The Power Plan may affect performance, power consumption, temperature, fan power, timing of turn off display, etc.

As Prime95 pushes the machine to full load, therefore the temperature is around 90C. As long as your idling temperature is not around 60, the temperature is good.

Hope this helps!
