Booting Issues on a 2764-CTO t400

2010-07-06, 3:10 AM

Had Left my laptop on over the weekend, I get in on Monday and its in sleep mode.  I woke it up, and the windows logon window keeps looping, ie, I enter my password, then the screen goes black for about 3min only to return to the windows loggin. after this goes on for about 5loops, I decide to just restart using the red icon on the lower right hand side of the login windows.   The system took a while to shutdown, like around 4 or 5 minutes. then the system posts, goes through the normalish windows boot secquence untill it gets to the part where it checks each disk, after the last disk C:\ it said disk checks complete and then just hangs there for hours.   I was able to boot into safe mode one time todo defrag and set up a chkdsk to run at next boot, however have not been able to get back in.  When trying to enter safe mode again, it just hangs at the last driver to load.
