Re: Brand New T440S makes annoying buzzing noise (apparently when fan starts)

Hi yinslaptop

Thanks for replying.

Is there ANY Lenovo that doesn't make noise and trouble free?  :smileyfrustrated:

Fro non-MAC option I'm looking into Samsung but they are pulling out their 15" models out of the market.

Or MAC is the only answer.

thanks

I'm having the same issue. Just bought T440s i7 with nvidia. And I have the same problem. There is a high pitch buzzing interrupted noise that stops when some activity is started. But if you are reading in the evening in quiet room it can drive you crazy. It is not tollerable and it is not that quit not to be heard by anyone who tries to hear it (lowers other sound polutions). I hear it even when the TV is on.

Is that issue only in machines with nvidia or it is just a bad luck?

The problem started when on fresh install of Windows 8.1 I installed the audio drivers (WAS NOT PRESENT BEFORE THAT). By the way the sound comes from around the trackpoint(definetly not from speakers or fan) - sounds like an old plated HDD or when a CD-ROM tries to read CD but fail and goes on and on, speed up speed down only high pitch.

Tommorow I'm sending the laptop back and going to consider if I should exchange it for one without nvidia chip but docking port.

Will be happy if there is a solution.

When I bought T-Series laptop from Lenovo, I thought it is premium quality and first grade notebook. I am very disappointed now. Coil whine seems to be a very frequent problem and I havent read ANY official statement from Lenovo or any intent to solve our problem. How is it possible? Great service makes great product, or not? Is there a way to get official statement from Lenovo?
