What do you guys do to keep your computers clean (physically) and how often do you do it?

I use a notebook computer sparingly. So mostly as needed. Fingerprint on screen? The pre-moistened lens tissues sold for glasses are good.

Every year or two, I will hold the keyboard downward, and run my hands over the keys. That is to knock out any loose things. You can also use a vacuum cleaner. I have heard of somebody sucking keys off, so sucking thru a loose cloth could catch any key that popped loose.

For the outside, Fantastic (a brand) cleaner is good every couple years. Rinse with water-dampened cloth. Windex or Sparkle glass cleaner are good and do not leave a residue. Don't get liquids inside. Spray your cloth or paper towel, and wipe. Same for the keyboard tops.

Windex and an old T-shirt.  When needed.  I'll brush dust off the screen with a dry cotton T-shirt.

In addition to what people described above, I myself use air duster / compressed air, maybe once every month or once every other month. It can also help get rid of dust and small junk from between mouse buttons and keyboard keys.

It's interesting to read what people actually do. :smileyhappy:

From the FAQ, here is what Lenovo recommends.

Best regards,

to keep the rubberised coating and the ABS plastics surface clean something like 'clean and clear'face toner works a treat, i have found them to be quite gentle on the rubberised finish of the top casing and yet removes all the smudges quite effectively. For the LCD, i use a generic LCD cleaning solution and microfibre cloth, but old T shirts are fine.
