Connected to Internet but can't Browse-Right out of the Box!

2012-08-08, 4:17 AM

Hello, I am having trouble loading web pages when connected to the internet via wireless (LAN works fine).  My network sharing center says i'm connected to the internet and when i troubleshoot it finds no problems. Occasionally the google or youtube homepage will load, but no more than that. An error message is never displayed either, the web page simply loads forever until i close out of it. Something odd I've noticed is that, if i cut the wireless on my laptop off then back on, I have around 30 seconds of browsing freedom--everything works; however, after that it returns to endless load times. All the other laptops in my house have no issues with the wireless. Anyways, I've looked for solutions all over the internet and none have fixed this problem. I just received my Lenovo t530 yesterday and this was a problem right out of the package. I hope someone can help.

Peytizzle,

Try changing the Channel in the wireless router and see that helps. Also do you have those "N" router? Can you try using only a/b/g?

Also if you have Channel set to "Automatic" can you try setting it into 1 channel only rather than leaving it in Automatic.

Let us know

Thanks

Which wireless adapter do you have?

Who setup the router. Are you using MAC filtering?
Do you get a yellow flag with limited access for WiFi.

Is this problem with IE and Chrome.

Try to reset your Internet explorer and delete all temporarly files.

Install another browser like firefox or Chrome and see if that works?

How do I change the channel in the wireless router, and how do I switch to a/b/g; i'm using an "N" router currently. Also where do I find the channel setting so that i can set it to 1 channel rather than automatic, thanks.

It can be various items. Have you tried it somewhere else that has WiFi. To eliminate the router.

I would call USA support. They can remote in and check various TCIP function to see where the problem is. Its a lot easier than just guessing.

Do you have any update on this Peytizzle? I have the same issue and just received the same exact computer as you.
