Current Lenovo Thinkpad product and warranty service in Singapore is really lacklustre

2020-03-28, 8:48 AM

Bought the T440 from a seller that seems to be an authorized dealer in 2017.

Seller seems to participate in "PC shows".

Upon opening the laptop, there are several dirt particles under the display.

Please refer to the thread started here:

So I proceeded to the service centre and also update it's warranty. It took a bit of time:

After collecting the notebook from the service centre, upon closer inspection, I found a gap in the casing near the trackpad and informed a 'live chat agent' about it:

Some time ago, a new screen problem surfaced. The screen or backlight flickers and stays on when it is supposed to be off:

So on the 24th-25th Feb, I emailed the service support:

Didn't get an email reply on the 28th Feb despite an agent promising to do so:

So on 28th Feb, another agent finally emailed me after I used the live chat function.

After many emails back and forth and sending many videos and pics, the agent refuse to send a technician and insist I bring it to the service centre.

The last email received states that I did not reply to the latest email and thus the case is closed.

But I did reply on the 19th:

The laptop came with 3 years on-site warranty but I didn't even get to use it once.

Also, at least one customer service officer told me that the warranty has already expired.

This is despite the 'warranty check' showing a 29 Feb 2020 end date:

Wonder what do the agents see on their screen.
