You have to download the .zip version from Intel, and then follow these instructions to get around he OEM check and install the latest Intel version.

Cheers,

I installed the new driver dated 4/02/2018 for Intel HD Graphics 620 (and I thank you for suggestion about install), but the problem is not solved. The blank now is at about 5 minutes interval, for 1-2 seconds.

Re: External Display connected to T570

We have the same issues on three Lenovo T570 at Dock. We changed the Cables, the Monitor. We updated the drivers and Firmware, even from the Dock. We do it via System Update. All Lenovos are installed with Windows 10 1607 (LTSB). We can reproduce this behavour unfortunately only limited. When you put a Smartphone on the cover of the Notebook the Display of the external Monitor gets dark, but not every Time.

Actually, we are trying the solution from another Post. In the Energy Option we changed the Option if the cover closed setting is configured to do nothing to go into the sleep mode.

Or schould we use a never driver from the Intel Homepage?

No solution arrived, yet.

I can tell you that there is not the blanking problem if I use Lenovo adapter HDMI-VGA. But I think it's because HDM addresses a resolution very high than VGA.

The HDMI to DVI cable I use is very high quality, I know that I have not to cheap on the cables, but if anyone can suggest a cable without these problems, please tell me.

I would use the Display Port on the external monitor, but I don't find the HDMI to DP adapter from PC to monitor (I find only DP to HDMI adapter from PC to Monitor).

Thanks

Fabrizio

You need some active Hardwar to get HDMI -> Display port. I use that and the sucks.

Re: External Display connected to T570

May be I solved the problem.

I appears to be a conflict problem between Office 365 preinstalled on all Thinkpad 570 (also if is not activated, Office 365 is installed) and another precedent version of Microsoft Office (for me 2010).

If you are in this situation you can do so:

  • update HD Graphics 620 driver (last version now is 23.20.16.4944 of 04/02/2018)
  • Uninstall Office 365 from Application Wizard (appwiz.cpl)
  • Uninstall your version of Microsoft Office
  • Reinstall your version of Microsoft Office (pay attention to the right version according you processor, 32 or 64 bit).

Now my  external display connected by HDMI to DVI cable don't blink anymore.

Regards

Fabrizio

Hi all,

we have the same question here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/ThinkPad-T570-Second-External-Monitor-Flickering/m-p/4049012#M124518

After various post, Lenovo decided to ignore us.

If you have already UPDATED Dock Firmware to ver. 2.33.000 (fwdphb07.exe) or higher....

Then try setting the external display's Refresh Rate to 60p Hz (or higher).

I find that the Lenovo displays default to 59Hz on initial setup, and tend to NOT sync correctly (with docked laptops) at this refresh rate.

When the external display's Refresh Rate is set to 60p Hz , it syncs with the video card correctly and eliminates the monitor blacking out.

The Refresh Rate can be changed (in Intel's HD Graphics Control Panel) by Right-Clicking on the desktop, choosing the Intel Graphics Settings, 'Display'; click drop-down for 'Select Display' (to choose the external display), then 'Refresh Rate' (change to 60p Hz or higher).

I hope that this helps!
