HHD replacement resulted in WIN 7 blue screen error

2012-01-19, 19:19 PM

Hi everybody!

I'm stuck!

I have a new thinkpad t410i and trying to replace stanard WD hdd to my old INTEL ssd with preinstaled WIN7 32bit (used on  DELL latitude d630).

As a result i have blue screen error on start of WIN7 loading. It says i have a problen with hdd or due to hardware replacement.

I tried to change SATA mode - not working, change power managemnt - not working. Install all neccesary drivers on SSD WIN - still no affect. Google - not working. Thinking about to create some boot CD to load all drivers?

Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance!

You have to do clean OS install to the SSD.

No, can't be done.

You must format the SSD with Lenovo recovery disks.

I'm not sure if sysprep can do the trick, but you might give it a try.

"...to my old INTEL ssd with preinstaled WIN7 32bit (used on DELL latitude d630)." When you boot, you're loading devices and drivers meant for the Dell and that's probably causing the BSOD. Try booting without any drivers loading. Or put the SSD back in the dell and remove all hardware devices using Device Manager. Then exit. Possibly when you then try it in the Lenovo it will install Microsoft generic drivers. I would also turn off all devices like wifi and bluetooth where there's a physical switch.
