Re: Hard drive, 1.8" form factor

2014-08-08, 13:46 PM
Thanks, I had recently asked about these drives in a separate thread. While these are great SSDs, I just want to make sure that will all of them definitively fit into a T400s/T410s?? I've heard the clearance on those models might be 5mm, and not 9.5mm like in their non-s counterparts. Has anyone else had experience trying to fit one of these 1.8" drives into the main drive bay?

Thanks!

I'm not aware of 1.8" SSDs with different height sizes (I have a Kingston 1.8" drive in the main bay, fits in my T400s with no problems)

Only 2.5" HDD's are available in 7mm, 9.5mm, 12.5mm and so on, the first gen SSDs were 9.5mm too, but most  (if not all) current 2.5" SSDs are 7mm IIRC

Definitely NOT 5mm.

I've had a 1.8" Crucial C300 in a T410s, never bothered measuring it, but it fit like a glove.

Cheers,

George
