How do i start my Lenovo Thinkpad T440p?

2015-07-14, 3:04 AM
When I turn it on it starts off by showing "lenovo" like it usually does.
After a minute under the lenovo name it says "preparing automatic repair" and begins loading (This doesnt usually happen)
After another minute it says "Diagnosing your PC" and continues loading
Then after another minute it says "Reparing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete." and continues loading.
After 2 more minutes the laptop shuts down and restarts.
Then when it restarts it continues down the same cycle, saying "preparing automatic repair" "Diagnosing your PC" etc.
Please help me I just want to start windows like it usually does

hello.  watch for messages about this on splash lenovo screen.  can you interrupt to gain a command prompt screen? then lookup using microsoft bootrec.exe to solve startup issues like /FixMbr.  your os version?

find joy.

Hi Robfagan887,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

I think there might be issue with Operating System or with storage drive. If possible can you check with reseating the HDD/SSD drive?

Use the below link to know the steps on how to boot the system into safe mode option.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-safe-mode

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar
