You'll need a maintenance disk only available to Lenovo support technicans. Take it to an authorized repair depot or try calling Lenovo support.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm curious why you feel you need to change the serial number. After all the T530 model is now several years old. So it's unlikely that the original S/N would be needed for warranty purposes.

i was wondering that, too - having a T530 that's probably 4-5 years old - Love it!!!

SOME BIOS flashes have a option (tab) at flash time to set MTM and serial number.

Your BIOS flash MAY have this option.

I believe a maintenance disk is still required to do the change.

T530 Bios screen.  User will have to run .exe and see what choices show up when update model number is selected. It might take a maintenance disk not available to the user.

But, HMM describes this feature. Select Update model number and serial number change will also appear(?).

Mod:

Please change post title from mother broad to mother board.

This could lead to a bricked BIOS,:smileyhappy:  -other- Livepd.
