Integrated Camera Driver for Realtek not working (Windows 10 Version 1709 or Later) - 10 [64]

2020-08-04, 12:52 PM

FYI All,

The Integrated Camera Driver for Realtek provided by Lenovo Vantage did not work with my system:

Problem: The camera video feed froze after split second, repetitively after each time opening the video feed.

Consequence: I could not use camera feed with Microsoft Teams nor with Lenovo Vantage for verification of device settings.

Status: Resolved: Camera driver rollback to the previous driver version using Windows Device manager resolved the problem.

System details:

Failed driver provided 2020-08-04 via Lenovo Vantage: Integrated Camera Driver for Realtek (Windows 10 Version 1709 or Later) - 10 [64], driver version 10.0.19041.20146(Realtek).

Rollback resolution to previous driver using Win10 Device manager: Driver version 10.0.14393.11252(Realtek).

Laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad T460p.

Win: Win10 build 19041.388, fully updated using Windows update per 2020-08-04.

System drivers: Fully updated using Lenovo Vantage per 2020-08-04.

Clarification: There were no other system application/driver installation updates between failed driver installation and driver rollback resolution.

Comments:

  • Failed driver was provided via Lenovo Vantage and labeled "Critical" update.
  • T460p and applicable Win10 build version is included in failed driver readme under supported systems.
  • Lenovo, please refrain from submitting driver updates that disable device functions.

Regards,

Martin

Integrated camera doesn't work on my T460 either, have already tried the latest drivers and all the fixes out there. Lenovo is totally silent on this widespread issue.

Where can I download a previous version of a driver for X1 Carbon 20QD?
Rollback didn't help.

I second this post!

Just went through 3 hours of troubleshooting various apps, settings, deleting and reinstalling the device, system upgrades, disabling/enabling firewalls and anti-virus software, etc.  Finally rolled back to the previous driver (10.0.14393.11252) and back to running smoothly.  This should be remedied as a critical patch given how many families are relying on conferencing for work and school right now.

I'm going to save off a copy of the old driver somewhere should this happen again and the rollback not readily available.

This is for my T450S running Win10.

Same issue here for my T450s. The driver rollback button in the device manager is greyed out, so I can't do that. Where do I find the older driver and what is the proper procedure for installing?

Glad I found this thread! My camera wasn't working for my Zoom meetings and I thought the problem was with Zoom. Reinstalled Zoom with no success and then kept googling and searching about lenovo, cameras, drivers, etc. ... finally tried rolling back the driver and seems to have worked.
