Re: KB4056892 multiple problems on T440s - registry key values of 1 ?

A value of 1 was a smart choice because it disabled only CVE-2017-5715, which was the only one causing the system logs to fill up with WHEA errors. But a value of 3 disabled both and also fixed the problem although at the cost of also disabling CVE-2017-5754. One of these is Spectre and the other is Meltdown protections.

Looks like BIOS 2.48 was just released. I won't be the first one to test this out after getting burned with an early jump on 2.46.

Someone else can be the guinea pig this time.

CHANGES IN THIS RELEASE
Version 2.48

[Important updates]
- Security fix addresses LEN-19568 Intel Active Management Technology MEBx
Access Control Bypass.

[New functions or enhancements]
Nothing.

[Problem fixes]
- Fix an issue where user cannot enter Bitlocker Pin code by using Bloomberg 4 keyboard.
- Fixed an issue where network boot might happened at reboot after resume from suspend
by Wake On LAN.

I installed several days ago - no major issues.

One minor annoyance ... when I "save and exit" bios machine reboots back into bios and I have to save and exit a 2nd time.

But for me that problem occured in earlier versions of the BIOS as well... it could be me   ;-)

I installed BIOS v2.48 and updated Windows to 1803. I then enabled both, Spectre- & Meltdown-Patches and now my performance-issues and bluetooth-hanging-issues are gone. Looks good for me now.
