I had the same problem with several batteries, all not being detected.  The problem is the power connector.  The power connect on the laptop and the battery is badly designed.  Check the contacts on the connector on the laptop and make sure they are straight and nothing is missing and the connector is not loose.  Fix any problems you see.  Then do the same for the battery connector.

The battery connector is on a spring and can be pushed back.  So if the contacts don't align 100%, the battery connector is pushed back, even though the battery is seated in the laptop, and it clicks in place.

After aligning my contacts, my T540 laptop detected the battery and I had no more problems.

The power connector is poorly designed and cheap and Lenovo should do something about it.

Problem is the power connector on the laptop, and maybe the battery.  Please read my other reply.

"Put battery back fully charged"?

How the hell is it going to get fully charged if it is not detected?

Hence, this does not work, and it appears no one on this forum knows how to fix this issue.

Please read my previous posts on this thread.

If you have tried more than one battery and none are detected, most likely it is because the connector on the laptop has become crooked, and does not mate with the battery.

This can happen even when the battery clicks in.

Straighten the pins on the laptop connector.  Also on the battery connector.  Make sure battery slides in with NO effort.  Any bent or misaligned pin on either side can result in no detection.

@maximusofoz

Hiya, it was () so that doesn't mean it needs to be fully charged, I really should have enhanced it by saying if you have the option to charge the battery in another T520 or so, but sometimes it seems people can't use their own brains and need to have it all fully chewed up so they only have to swallow, right!

put battery back in (fully charged), remove AC adapter, this is most important step!!!

T420, T520.
