Lenovo T430s Memory Upgrade Problem

2018-04-30, 5:46 AM

Hi all members,

I am new here, so I hope you will ignore my lack of knowledge of computers, but I will try my level best to cooperate with you with my limited knowledge.

I recently bought a refurbished T430s with Windows 7.  You can see the machine information below:

It came with a 4GB DDR3l-PC3L-12800 (1600MHz) module in the first slot. As the picture below:

I recently bought the same module (another 4GB Samsung with same specs) for the second slot. Once I have inserted it, the windows does show 8 GB, but only 3.23GB usable). How can I fix this?

Thank you.

So apparently, maximum usable memory was being capped. Upon unchecking it and restarting the machine, everything is back to normal. Now, it shows the following:

Misson accomplished!

Hopefully, next thing for me is to install an EGPU on this!
