Lenovo T570 damaged motherboard

2020-09-20, 16:13 PM

Hi all!

I've got Lenovo T570 with damaged motherboard. SSD connector is loose and doesn't connect the SSD with the motherboard (see photos in attachment for better resolution).

Is it relatively easy to repair that on my own? Or should I buy new motherboard? What do You think?

Thanks in advance

Jay

Is it still under warranty?  Do you have accidental damage protection?

It is not easy to repair.  Lenovo doesn't do board repairs - replace only.  I have a good rework station and do some repairs so I have attempted to replace the connector on a similar machine (P51s).  Usually, the mounts for the connector are damaged, but even if they are not, it was not something I could so.  I found the connector for sale at Mouser.com, but I couldn't get the contacts soldered correctly.  The individual contacts are on 0.5mm centers
