Re: New ThinkPads and multiple drives

Just tried the configurator here for the T460P and it now allows you to select a 2nd drive (128 GB Solid State Drive, SATA3), but when you select it, there's a pop-up message that says invalid configuration.:smileymad: If you select an SSD as the 1st drive there is no longer an option to select a 2nd drive. I wish Lenovo would get it straight as to whether it is going to support two drives on the L460 and T460P or not.

They are, but Lenovo only sells it if you select a HDD. You still can upgrade the system later if you want if you choose a SSD.

Is it possible to install a 256 GB M.2 2242 SSD instead of a 128 GB M.2 SSD in the Lenovo Thinkpad T460p?

My thinkpad has a 2.5" PCIE NVME SSD installed in the 2.5" bay.

Yes, that is possible on the T460p. T460p should work with any 2242 M.2 SATA SSD.

What about the L460?  I'm not sure if the parts catalogue for the L460 is enough proof that an M.2 SSD will work.  I'm starting to sway towards the L460. I'd hate to order the Transcend 512G M.2 and find out it doesn't work.:smileysad:

L460s was tested, and it works.
