PowerMrg keeps on crashing after each reboot

2020-09-02, 18:09 PM

hi all.
hope this is not double post, but I have problems with my T570 after I updated to Windows 10 2004.

some data :

Windows 10 Pro ver 2004, OS build : 19041.450. AV - TrendMicro 12.0.5684 SP1.

after I boot up the machine, I see this :

my installation of lenovo vantage tells me this :

my OS is in Slovak language so translation is that driver for Lenovo Power Manager is not installed, you can install it clicking on a link. I did clicked, downloaded some .msi and tried to install. the install package told me that the best driver is already installed.

I searched for powermgr.exe, the exe is still in place, but I get the same not about "specified module could not be found" as I see when I reboot the machine.

any idea? reinstall Vantage?

thx

Please check in Device Manager -> System Devices -> Lenovo Power Manager

Double-click on that device and check the Driver tab, what is the version?  It should be 10.0.127.0

The error message is coming from this driver, so as a troubleshooting step, you could try uninstalling it and rebooting.  Then run Windows Update and it should be re-installed automatically.  Let me know if this helps.

This helped me too

hi.

OK so I uninstalled the device with this checkbox checked :

and reinstalled the driver. My W10 didn't updated the driver, not sure why (I also tried to scan for updates, no luck), anyway it seems to fix the issue and the boot time note is not there. But I see in Vantage after bootup the same behavior (app complaining about the driver not installed) and then after short while it seems to be happy and working again.
I will mark your answer a fix when things will stay as they are for a day or two but at first glance it seems to work.

thank you.

Hello, I would like to continue in this thread as I have the same problem, but the solution mentioned here does not help (removing the driver and restarting) - after each restart I get the message from the first screenshot here.

My system:
Lenovo T480s

Windows 10 Pro 20H2, OS build 19042.508

Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.31.0

Thanks in advance,
