Hi winenzyme,

In a German forum, another user had also an error which produced the same error message (VPU recovery with keywords "0x80000000000000"). In that case, the problem seemed to be related to installed memory. Removing the freshly installed memory module "cured" the notebook.

Have you recently installed a memory module?

No , I didn't  add any memory.

It is the same as what i bought from the retailer.

But I don't know if the retailer add any memory module since the orignal OS is vista 32bit with a 4G memory.

I can do some check.  The product ID is 4061RM7.

thank you for your rapid rely.

Sorry, I don't have anything more to offer :-)

I suggest that you contact Lenovo support. If there are any findings, I'm sure that the others are also interested in them. So, please report on the progress!

If the problem did not occur before I would try a system restore (Possibly do a backup before).

Some days ago I completely killed my video driver (dedicated adapter only showing black screen) and revived it through restore.

Greetz!

hallo,lzmi.

I've just changed my OS to Win7(32bit) this week.

And I realized on my W500 there is exactly the same problem as you mentioned.

Btw, I also cannot "full screen" when I change the resolution from the default value (which is 1920*1200) .

I've just checked the system report, the only error message is related to "amdkmdag", quite annoying.

I'll keep an eye on your post for a solution...

For me (T500, 2056-VCX) the option to switch between ATI and Intel via the battery toolbar seems to randomly appear and disappear between reboots.

Any suggestion how I can get his option to remain where it belongs?

Thanks!

Update, the switch option has gone for good now, re-insta;ling the ATI drivers didn't help. :smileysad:

Ideas anyone please?

Do you see both adapters in the device manager? If not (and you have correctly selected the switchable option in BIOS) it could be a hardware defect.

Windows 7 Enterprise x64 RTM, ThinkPad T400, 6 GB RAM (4GB + 2 GB).

About twice a day the ATI drivers crash. The image freezes for about 10 seconds, then it flickers and a message telling appears me the AMD driver crashed but was restored.

When I switch to integrated graphics, sometimes fonts get corrupted. The problem solves itself after a while, but the image gets corrupted intermittently. This seems to happen a lot when I run VMware Workstation.

Also, on integrated graphics colors are slightly psychedelic. This is very subtle.
