Re: Request to fix TOLUD in newer BIOS files

@All,

There would be an upcoming BIOS for the X220 and T420 which has changed the TOLUD.

Will keep everyone posted on this.

Can someone confirm if their eGPU setup is working?

Or can someone confirm that their eGPU setup wasn't working but is now working since they applied the BIOS update?

Thanks!

What Makes A Great Company

2011-11-30, 4:50 AM

CONFIRMED:  BIOS 1.24 + X220T + 560Ti = WORKING

To begin, I would like to thank not just Lenovo's engineering team, but the support and management staff surrounding them who advocated for the TOLUD fix.  This is an investment into, not just the quality improvement of their own products, but the progression of how those products are used.  For ordinary consumers, this technology can take common, affordable computer purchases and leverage them into more powerful machines.  For power users, this turns high-end Lenovo laptops into convergent devices where portable laptop computing and intensive desktop applications and can be consolidated into a single computing session.  UMPCs, MIDs, and whole host of other specialized devices all compromise on trying to accomplish this.  But Lenovo really pulled out the stops here.  I'd been suffering under the weight of all the bug fixes I couldn't enjoy for the sake of keeping a single unified computing session, but with the latest BIOS upgrade, I am rebuilding my confidence in Lenovo.

More important that this feature is the fact Lenovo staff listened, engaged, and responded to their community.  While many manufacturers promise a perfect product, the reality is that bugs need to be fixed and improvements can be made after release.  To consolidate these with user requests is amazing, truly amazing.  I cannot emphasize enough how amazing this is.  I wouldn't want to be greedy and demand voice call functionality with a bluetooth headset (X330T? :P), but I see a flexibility in Lenovo's products that I am not seeing elsewhere.  I was saving for a new Fujitsu, hoping to get in on a great Christmas deal.  Instead, I will be ordering a slice battery and possibly a dock.

Not working here still.

x220 + GTX 560 TI + BIOS 1.24

My x220 still refuses to allocate memory to my external gpu, suggesting no change in TOLUD.

@Jamez

Sorry guys, I appreciate your hard work in fixing the problem which has obviously worked for others.

Unfortunately, it is still not working for myself and I still get the same problems as before.

Still possible for any fixes?

Thanks.

USB-C: Just cos it fits don't mean it works.
I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

JameZ, a clarification please: are we talking about a post 1.24 version?

Thank you,

Alex.
