Ricoh Multi Card Reader Issues

2013-01-29, 22:52 PM

Hi all,

Like several other T430s users, I have been struggling with my Ricoh Multi Card Reader not reading SD cards. I have tried all three available Windows 8 Ricoh drivers:

and none of them worked. SD card not detected.

By chance I stumbled on this thread

which suggests to use the old driver version, which is Win7 and T420.

It solved my problem and the SD card is now seen.

My question to Lenovo: The issue seems to be known and the solution also. Three versions of the Win8 Ricoh driver have been published and they all don't seem to work. How can this be?

Thanks and regards

A very very good question. I will check to see what answer you get.

Drivers and updated drives as well as released BIOS upgrade should be certified and guaranteed to work. I have seen cases where that is not the case. This is a new on. I am currently holding off on my BIOS update since there is no response about the 1.41 release. I don't want to brick my MB accidentally.
