Shiny spot on touchpad of new T470 laptop

2017-11-15, 15:53 PM

Hi ,

I bought a brand new T470 in August and everything seemed fine. Now the touchpad has developed a shiny spot in the middle ( where I usually move my finger ). I have tried to use isopropyl alcohol ( rubbing alcohol ) and water thinking this could be an oil smudge. But this seems to be like the paint or the coating is worn off. Is this a normal thing for T470 series or something I need to report to the Lenovo support ?.

Provided the fact that this is a brand new ( and pretty expensive !! ) laptop, I feel really worried about the quality of the item I have spent so much on.
It would be really great if someone could advise on this.

Yes I noticed this on my P51s model too. Mine looks a little bit worse than your picture.

Seems really early (6 months old) for signs of wear to be showing up like this.
