Swich off annoying pad on T410 while typing and missing manual to look up how...

2011-03-24, 6:14 AM

I installed my win7 64 instead of the 32 that came preinstalled with the T410.
Everything more-or-less works now, except the manual that is supposed to reside in the windows help
And the funct/f8 that is supposed to switch off the annoying tablet while typing and instead pops up the mouse properties screen.
I did, to my knowledge, install the appropriate drivers and files from the site....
(and I can´t look it up in the manual ;-)

I don't think you need UltraNav utility. Might be the hotkey integrations package.

However, downloading System Update and letting it do the drivers automatically is definitely the easier way.

@josmeijer,

Install ThinkVantage System Update and run it. It will install all the drivers which you need. I think you are missing the hotkey patch.

you mean you want to switch off the touchpad? you can also do it through your bios menu.

Hello mate,

For the manual, I think you means Access Help you can find it there : http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-74376

For the touchpad you have to install the driver but you have to install Ultranav Utility as well.

it will probably be punished by a letter on fair use policy from my mobile internet provider, but indeed the auto-update program did solve all my prolems but one.

But after rtfm i found out that in some (read my) cases you have to make your own shortcut to the chm file, and so I did and a even have a manual now!

Thanks, all you guys for assisting
