Re: System Recovery on a Refurbished T420

**bleep**, I figured it out!

The source disc has 3 partitions:  System, Windows and Recovery.  Total space used for all 3 paritition was only about 40gb.  The Windows partition was too big.  I was trying to clone all 3 partitions.  Macruim wouldn't let me, saying there wasn't enough space.

When I deselected the Recovery partition to only clone the first only the 2 partitions, Macruim would allow me to do that and reported that it was shrinking the Windows partition.

This is the story of my life with computers.  If you play around with it long enough, eventually you will stumble across the correct combination.

I'm afraid there will be a trouble. If Macrium will copy partitions only, not entire disk, MBR might not be copied. It means disk will not be bootable.

No.  It worked great!  The trick, I think, is to make sure the boot sector is copied.  The only thing I can figure is that the System partition has the boot sector on it.

At worst, the partition table is non-seriously invalid (specifies a non-existant partition), which is an easy fix.
