T-series shipping thread - 2010 edition

Post your shipping and order management experiences here:

 

Here are some common points of frequent discussion:

 

  •  Avoid Credit Holds - ensure that BOTH your bill to and ship to addresses are listed with your CC bank before ordering
  • Lenovo will NOT bill your card until order ships - an authorization charge hold to check for available balance may show up when order is first placed.
  • Estimated ship dates are based on default lead time and can vary from what was displayed on website.
  • In the US and Canada, Lenovo utilizes UPS for new product shipments
  • Orders may ship before the Estimated Ship Date
  • Orders may enter through Alaska and pass through Louisville, KY before traveling on to final address
  • Cancellation requests may take up to 2 days to process
  • Requests to change configuration or other aspects of the order may require the order to be rebooked.
  • Lenovo does not accept payment via international credit cards, except AMEX.

I got an E-mail today from Lenovo saying my laptop has been shipped!

I'm assuming that a tracking number will be provided tomorrow morning :)

Checked my account this morning, didn't get a tracking number.

So I quickly glanced other posts in the forum, it seems like even the laptop has already been physically shipped, it still take one day for Lenovo to complete the invoice and update the website.

Anyway, I'm glad that my laptop is on the way. Right now I just hope it is configured right :smileyvery-happy:

please allow 3-5 business days for UPS to issue a tracking number after our order was shipped.

We can find tracking # by log in lenovo ==> my account ==> check my order status ==> review order

I placed an order on 12/30. Initially it said it was going to ship on 1/7/10, then on thursday the ship date changed to 1/15/10. I called yesterday, told it looked like ship date was 2/1/10 and there would be a request to expedite the order and to call back next week to check. There wasn't any notification when I placed the order that anything was backordered or would delay the process. I already got the carrying case I ordered, just no machine lol. Order # is 2E5X7T. Would like some kind of update otherwise I may just cancel the entire thing.

Pretty much the same situation here.  I placed my T400 order on 12/26 and was informed my machine would ship by the 5th of January.  The 5th came and the ship date changed to 01/13.  I have not yet called . . . but I will on Monday.  I will be disappointed to learn, as you did, that the updated status merely reflects another erroneous date.  Lenovo should be forthright with their customers from the get-go.

Before I could make my call yesterday, I received notification that my machine has shipped (two days before the amended/revised shipping date).   I'm smiling now and very much looking forward to my new computer.  I will update when package arrives.

Still nothing, tried calling into the service center 20 minutes ago, told it was closed, despite allegedly being open from 9am-9pm eastern standard time. its now 7:53 eastern standard time. Probably just going to cancel my order, the service has been below par for what you would expect out of a decent company.

Welcome to the forum!

While there are a few Lenovo employees roaming around in here helping out on a volunteer basis, this is not an official support channel with dedicated Lenovo support personnel assigned to it. Instead, this is designed to be a user-to-user support and discussion forum. You may or may not get an answer directly from one of the Lenovo employees as there are way more of us than them and all of them, even Mark, have full-time jobs doing other things.
