T400: On screen display not showing up

2009-03-07, 17:43 PM

The display that shows the volume, screen brightness, power status, etc when you press the buttons no longer show up when I press the buttons.  They used to, but no longer.  Anyone know which piece of software activates this on my T400?

I believe the power management software handles all these features on your laptop.

Click Here...then go down to the section labeled "Power Management" and download the driver for the operating system you are using. Then install the software.

Didn't work.  What I meant was the green volume bar, mute indicator, screen brightness, etc display on the screen when you hit those buttons.

Yes...You'll have to install the Hotkey driver that you can find here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70439

Thank you

Have you followed the installation instructions on the Lenovo page?

I do believe you need the system interface driver as well in addition to the hotkey utility to make it work, but not sure if that will affect the on-screen display.

I just tried uninstalling the system drivers and the hotkey software and reinstalled, and still nothing!  Any other suggestions?  I'm using Vista 64.
