T400 SATA Bandwidth Limitation

2008-11-22, 7:36 AM

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had figured out whether the new lines of T series thinkpads were limited to 1.5 gbps like the previous T series laptops? Thanks very much I appreciate it a lot!

I can't answer your question really but it might help if you give us a setup where you might be able to use more than 1.5gbps transfer.  Aren't all mechanical drives well shy of that limitation?

Well I was primarily talking about SSDs it seems like the previous models seem to cap out hard drives like the Intel X-25m at around 150 mbps when that hard drive is capable of reads over 200 mbps. I was just wondering if anyone had sunk the $600 into one of those or a similar spec'd drive and has some info.

Hello,

please also take a look at Lenovo blogs. They have tested it.
