T400 Supervisor Password

2011-12-08, 21:42 PM

Hi, i just repaired my Thinkpad T400 type 6474 using suggestions from this forum. The notebook yesterday stopped working and when i tried to power it on it had only the power, battery and ac adapter led on and nothing more. So i removed the palm rest and uninstalled the backup battery for about 10 minutes, than i reinstalled it. Now when i wake up the pc it requires first my hardisk password, then the supervisor password (this is the image that appairs:

The problem is that i NEVER enabled this password and i have no idea of what it can be. Now i can't access my data and i need to work on them! I hope you could help me, it's very important.

Sorry for my bad english..

there is nothing you can do without the password if you bought it used contact the original owner for the PW
also forum rules don't allow post on password hacks or how to get around security features

I was wrong, the password that the notebook requires is the power-on password and not the supervisor one.. I bought it directly from Lenovo.

Lenovo wouldn't have set a password on their machine.

we suggest you contact lenovo support directly if you believe this to bean error in the BIOS, hardware, or otherwise.
