T400 Video Problem

when I'm watching a movie on youtube or from my Harddisk I get some strange lines, like clippings.Example (as an illustration)




Besides that the machine works fine and I have the latest Display driver. With the internal Graphik card the problem is even worse.I bought the laptop this year.

That's a vertical sync/refersh rate problem.


Does it happen when watching DVDs? it's very possible that it's just the encoding on the video.


I had this problem on a Linux machine, but i couldn't solve it - it's to do with the drivers it had. I guess your best bet is to try different drivers. I honestly don't remember where I got my T500 ones, but  I remember http://www.omegadrivers.net/ used to be really good.


Always try the Lenovo drivers first. Always take the time to install the thinkvantage update utility and run that before darting off and trying to find alternatives.


you might also try using an alternative codec for the film on your hard drive - VLC comes with some, or the klite codec pack.
