Re: T410 Extremely Annoying Audio Issues

In case it helps anyone, I've heard that this issue can be related to the CPU overheating. There's a program called TPFanControl that will make the fan run at higher speeds to alleviate the overheating.

Hi JameZ,

I got a question for you:

I have been busy the last few weeks to look for the right laptop to produce music with (Ableton Suite 8, Renoise,...).

I already had chosen LENOVO T-series since I heard and read many good comments, but this topic made me worry again...

Anyway I would have gone for the T510i (with Intel grahics instead of problematic NVIDIA).

Do you think that I would get the same latency issues ?

(I will connect an external synthesizer Novation Ultranova and simple USB Interface M-Audio Fasttrack Pro)

Any comments would be appreciated,

Thx

@Ultranova,

Based on a quick search on T510i audio stutter and audio issues, am unable to find any audio stuttering issues on it. Also based on previous post there are some users who has the T410 with Intel GPU are not reporting any audio issues.

You could create a new post and on the T series thread and check with T510i owners and see if they are experiencing any audio issues.

@All,

New Nvidia drivers are uploaded on the site. Appreciate if you could test it .

  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where it might have audio stutters during recording.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where the Lenovo D221 monitor connected with the DVI port of Docking Station might have blank screen.

Hi JameZ,

Regarding the graphix controller of T510i it sais:

"Intel 5 Integrated GFX with no power"

 Intel HD Graphics Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0

So no problems are to be expected ?

Best regards,

U.

Hi JameZ,

It's even worse at my T410 2522PB7 i5 520, 4G RAM, 32bit Win7 Pro.

Online vedio application die more frequently.

Mucic swaping left and right more then before.

Latency is the same.

Still getting ' Display driver stopped responding and has recovered'.

I m going to restore old version driver now.

new drivers appear to be much better than old ones, but i haven't had an opportunity to test.

I will give the drivers a thorough test this weekend and report back.  one thing that surprises me is how the lenovo drivers never have powermizer settings available?  why is that?

I will test and see if these drivers are better than simply custom-installing other lenovo drivers.

the drivers are a litlte buggy.

for example, color gradients come out as sharp lines instead of smooth color changes.

Thought it was just my imagination about the colors looking strange. Almost like one is running at a lover color bit setting.

OK, experienced strange behaviour now. Massive cursor lag and then system completely froze. I strongly suspect this new driver isn't any good. What's up with this Lenovo? The older driver did crash ocasionally  but never locked up Windows.
