T410s Locking up in Windows 7

2010-08-02, 13:16 PM

I have a T410s with 4Gb memory running Windows 7.

about 4 or 5 times a day it freezes for 2 or 3 seconds, there is nothing in the event log, all the drivers are upto date.

Any ideas?

Run ThinkVantage Tools and update your drivers.

That might help.

Hi scambler,

Did you have this problem from day 1 before you installed any software or did it start at some point later?

If you installed some software like antivirus or other software that run in the background? I remember seeing this problem using Kaspersky in the past. Could be other software as well and not necessarily antivirus, but i would start by checking antivirus, security programs and that kind of applications first.

It's a bit of a stretch, but have you tried disabling the ThinkVantage Active Protection System? Or perhaps turning down the sensitivity? You can find the link in the start menu by searching "Active Protection System". Uncheck "Enable Active Protection System" under the Configuration tab, and hit OK.
