T420 Power Manager Gauge

2011-12-18, 23:40 PM

Have had a new T420 for three days and suddenly the Power Manager Gauge is greyed out with dashes (it was working fine).  I have seen this question asked elsewhere, and the suggested solutions seem a bit complicated for what should be a small matter.  Just checking to see if there is a simple answer.

Started it up this morning and the Gauge is back.  Odd.  Thanks for the replies.  I'll try them out if it repeats.

The first thing I would try is to reinstall the latest T420 power management driver, and the latest Power Manager.  I would grab them from the downloads area of support.lenovo.com.

If you've already done that, I'm not sure if there's another prerequisite. It used to require .Net Frameworks but I'm not sure if that's still true.

First of all try to re-attach the battery.

If it does not help, follow ThorsHammer's  tip:

  • remove Powermanager
  • remove power management driver
  • run ccleaner
  • install power management driver
  • install powermanager
