Hi antsh,

One final check.

Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change plan settings -> Change advance power settings -> Intel Graphics Settings -> On Battery -> Maximum Performance -> OK

If the settings still change to 50Hz when on Battery, Pls send the following to me via Private Message.

BIOS:

Win Ver / SP1 / x86 / x64:

Power Manager: 3.52

Power Management Driver: 1.62

Mobile:

Email:

Unplug AC causes refresh rate to drop to 50Hz and plug in AC the refresh rate bumps up to 60Hz ?

Intel forces 50hz refresh rate when on battery

2011-05-06, 2:08 AM

This has been an issue since my T400 and is still apparently there in the X220. Whenever I unplug the power cord the refresh rate automatically drops to 50hz even though power saving is off in Intel graphics and I've set refresh to never be reduced in Power Manager. Could someone please look into this? I frequently change between battery and outlet power, and it's very frustrating having to manually adjust the refresh rate each time I unplug.

Just one other random litle thing to note.  So within the Intel graphics control panel I typically try to keep the Power Plan set to "Maximum Battery Life" when On Battery power.  I noticed recently though that it always seems to be switching it back to "Balanced" for whatever reason within the Intel control panel - within the Windows power control panel though it still shows as "Maximum Battery Life." - this is probably just a driver issue on Intel's end.

Do you have Lenovo's Power Manager installed? I think its actually the Power Manager that switches it. Set it to whatever you want in the Intel control panel, then switch profiles in Lenovo's Power Manager, and see what happens.
