T420s - Quadcore?

2011-11-09, 8:13 AM

Any ideas when a quad-core is going to make its way into the T420s?

I see folks with MBPs and QuadCores... and I'm so envious!

Cheers

Probably not going to happen. It struggles enough with thermal limits as is with a 35W chip. I don't think it will be able to sustain a 45W quad core before throttling.

You don't see their MBPs overheating during intensive gaming/calculations, nor do you see their power supply being inadequate under high demands, but they do happen. Something that's not listed on the spec sheet.
