T430s (2356-HAU) Keeps BSOD'ing - all OEM - Needs to Stop!!!

2012-11-26, 17:13 PM

We have some brand new T430s machines all type 2356-HAU. Upgraded to the full 16GB of memory (all Lenovo RAM, no aftermarket RAM & no aftermarket SSD) The constant blue screens are killing my productivity.

BSOD Info:

"A Clock Interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval"

Running the OEM Lenovo Win 7 Pro image. This machine will BSOD regardlessof CPU load or NIC utilization (even if it's docked and idling.)

I read an article about Wake Forest University getting full replacements because of defective CPU's or mobos.
Not sure if this is true but I need this remedied asap.

Calling level 1 support is my last resort because I know it's going to kill time.

Anyone have a fix for any T430s with BSOD's?? (My T420s is looking like my backup plan right now...)

Thanks in advance,

Brian G.

you need to get the machine either repaired or placed. Basically it needs a new motherboard put in.

My coworker has this issue also, we both got our machines at the same time, so most likely they're from the same production run given their serial numbers.

I bit the bullet and called Lenovo this morning. Got 2 case numbers and of course they wanted to "analyze the system first" - that is, until I read him the message from the BSOD.

Then the rep told me " someone will call you back by 5PM today to schedule an onsite visit to change motherboards."

Apparently their system is red flagged (perhaps?) on specific serial #'s for the 2356 T430s family?

Fingers crossed, I'll update again after we get onsite service.
