T430s - using T420s keyboard?

2013-04-12, 5:48 AM

Is there any way to put an older keyboard into the new T430s?

I actually don't mind the chiclet keys, but the layout is absolutely terrible.    The guy who designed/approved this is either a mac user or was smoking crack.   Seriously, I would take a dvorak keyboard with properly placed page up/down, keys.

If I can't change the keyboard, can someone at least tell me why I am still buying lenovo and haven't switched to a mac for a quad core, 16:10 retina display in the same sized package?

Rant = done.

Supposedly, swapping in a palmrest and keyboard from the older machines fits (not sure if it was tested on the T4xxs model though).

HOWEVER, the BIOS key mappings are way off, and there isn't a community patch for it yet (if there ever will be at all).
