T440 Bluetooth does not appear in settings or device manager

2015-09-28, 20:22 PM

According to the specifications, the thinkpad t440 comes with the bluetooth radio. However, the bluetooth option does not appear in the settings, nor on device manager. I have tried everything I could, like installing drivers, and I end up assuming that there's no bluetooth radio at all on my thinkpad t440. Might that be a mistake? What can I do? Thank you guys

Hello hppc, welcome to the community,

have you checked to see that bluetooth is enabled in BIOS?

Press and hold F1 key from a cold start and once in BIOS navigate to the Security  section and then select the I/O port menu; the setting should be there.

Please let us know if this helps, if it doesn't please post your full type number, (please do not post your serial number).

hppc,

T440 laptops have combo wifi+BT 4.0 cards.
What's the OS version installed?
Is airplan mode disabled?

In the BIOS, if you move the curser to Bluetooth and hit enter, what happens? Do you have a BIOS password set?

There is BIOS Setup setting HardwarePasswordManager.
I don't know what does it meen since laptop BIOS simulator doesn't work. But it seems some BIOS settings prevent the user to change them.

No password is requested for BIOS Setup. What could be the reason why I cant make changes on it? Is there any other way I can enable my bluetooth? Thanks

For some reason, today I found "Bluetooth(R) AMP" on "Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 > Properties > Advanced." The value was "Disabled." I changed to "Enabled" and rebooted my pc, but I stil cant have bluetooth. Any help? Thank you
