T450 dead, removing accu / resetting / resetting accu bridge did not help

2021-05-03, 12:17 PM

Hey there,

I got a T450 - without a prior crash, neither in the OS, nor physically, after shutting it off normally yesterday, it does not turn on at all anymore today, no matter how long I press the On-Switch, it does not light up green in the center, nor does the notebook do anything.

What I tried:

1. testing the power socket with another gadget

2. removing the accu, connecting the laptop to the power socket directly with the charger

3. replacing the charger with a another one, which I tested on another notebook

4. having it charge for 30min

5. removing both the accu and the charger, waiting a minute, reconnecting the two and holding the On-Switch for 40s

6. the above (5.) but also pressing the small accu bridge reset on the bottom of the laptop with a paperclip for 30s while both was removed

7. 5./6. but this time pressing the on-switch only a single time after resetting

8. 5./6./7. but this time connecting only the charger to the power socket after reset

9. 5./6./7. but this time reputting only the accu after the reset

is there some trick I am missing, or does this mean that definetely the mainboard or sth bigger is screwed?

thank you a lot for any help

kind regards

Hello Karobube!

Welcome to community forums

Yes, it is possible that the motherboard is down. I would recommend bringing this to any of our listed authorized repair centers within your area for further diagnosis.
