T460P plastic around edge is loose

2017-04-09, 17:17 PM

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a T460p in June of 2016, it has been last than a year so far and recently I've discovered that the edge of the monitor has become very loose to the point where if I just poke the plastic region you can see a discernible gap bettwen this area and the monitor itself.

Is there any solutions to this? My warrantee hasn't expired yet, would lenovo allow me to replace this because of this problem?

This is a short video I made of what I'm talking about if you are still confused at what I'm describing - in comparison to my T430s that is 4 years old, you can hear that there is a solid sound, and see that it doesn't move back and forth either.

Thanks.

Hi,
This is not a issue for lenovo to fix, that plastic line is just stuck there with plastic clips and a "clued rubber line".

For me here in the EU I got on-site-repair in my warranty then a repair-man from Lenovo just geting home to me to repair it, it would take a repair man just 5min to fix the issue.

Here can you see how it's assambled:

I don't live in the EU - and the assembly video doesn't help much..

My front bezel is of my t460p is still very loose to the point where I could slide a piece of paper into it or my finger nail.

How do I make it rigid and tight / not loose so that it flexes a lot?? Why is this not covered on the warranty?

Hi richk,

Do you mind elaborating on what your reply meant. I'm not sure who my dealer is as I purchased the product online via the Lenovo website. Who or where would I bring my laptop into for inspection??

Thanks,

K

You don't have a location, but your IP address looks like U.S. I would look online for the closest Lenovo Premier Dealer.

Put in your zip code and select corporate products.
