T460p SSD M.2 Questions

2019-07-16, 23:42 PM

I want to upgrade my Hdd that came with my computer.

I want to buy Samsung ssd m.2 970 evo pro - 512gb or ADATA agammix s11p -512gb or last WD black SN750 - 500gb.

However, I was looking some Reviews, and some said the space to connect the SSd in some thinkpads are too little so the disk wont fit.

Does someone know if they are compatible with t460 series?

Welcome to the forum!

You need a 42mm M.2 SATA SSD.

The ones you mention below seem to be NVMe SSD SSDs with 80mm lenght, those won't work.

You can use full length 2280  m2 devices with  an additional  2.5" adapter in the main drive bay. Can't say anything about availability of such adapters.

Keep in mind that the PCIe lanes are shared between the wwan port and the main drive.  So you can't use 2 PCIe drives at the same time in the T460p, and only 2 PCIe lanes are available.
