+1!

I am also looking for somebody who can confirm that a M.2 PCIe SSD works on T470s.

Re:T470S - second SATA M.2 2242 HD in WWAN not recognized

I can confirm that the M.2 2242 SSD (SATA i/f) does NOT appear to work in the T470s.   Not sure about Toshiba RC100, Western Digital SN520, or other M.2 2242 SSDs using the NVMe i/f.   It's tempting to buy one just to find out.

I installed the same 120 GB M.2 2242 SSD that I'd previously used successfully in an older T450s, in the WWAN slot.  Sadly it did not work, although it physically fit perfectly and was properly seated and screwed down (I had to move antenna wires).   The BIOS did not recogize it, nor did the 'gparted' utility in live Linux.  Previously this was handy feature as I could dual boot with Windows 10 on the main SSD and a Linux desktop (Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.) on the 2nd M.2 2242 SSD.

The SSD I used was the Intel SSDSCIHF120A4H (SATA i/f), which while it does not appear to be an official Lenovo part nonetheless worked fine in the older T450s.

Re:T470S - second SATA M.2 2242 HD in WWAN not recognized

Hello, I've tried to install an WesternDigital SN520 2242 512GB Nvme (not SATA) on WWAN M.2 of a T460p but it does not get recognized.

It causes boot error "2102: Detection error on ssd1 (M.2)", and having an primary SATA SDD installed or not does not change the situation.

Solution:

Ignore the WWAN M.2 B key (only) slot and use the nvme ssd unit together with the GENUINE LENOVO THINKPAD T470P SSD ADAPTER BRACKET SM12Y000400 M.2 2280 (FRU 01HY319) installed on the main SATA (SATA express) 2.5" drive connector.
