T480s CPU load with two 1440p 75Hz monitors

Hi,

 

I have a Thinkpad T480s with i5-8250U CPU, Intel UHD Graphics 620, and 24GB RAM. I've been using it with one external FHD monitor (22'' or sometimes 24''), but I want to upgrade to two QHD 27'' monitors for increased working space (probably two AOC Q27P2Q). I have two questions regarding this setup:

 

1. I'm thinking about connecting one to USB-C and the other to the HDMI port (1.4b). From my understanding, with 1440p 75Hz monitors, this should work, correct? The AOC Q27P2Q has HDMI1.4 and DP1.2 ports.

 

2. I'll be closing the laptop lid, so the internal display will be off. Will the CPU load increase significantly using these two 1440p 75Hz monitors? Or will it run much hotter with this setup?

 

I use it mainly for programming, setting up machine learning models, web browsing (usually lots of tabs open), and youtube. This covers 99% of my normal usage. No gaming.

 

Could you share your experience with me?
