T500, minidock, DVI monitor won't work

2011-02-10, 0:21 AM
I have a T500 with an advanced mini dock 2504 I've been using with VGA out to my LCD monitor which works fine. I just upgraded the monitor and the new one had DVI-D input. So, I tried hooking a DVI-D dual 24+1 cable from the dock to the monitor and it won't work. Do I need to do something to enable DVI? Any way to get this working? Thanks

go into your bios for you external display select the boot display to be the dvi.

You can also run a dvi monitor from the displayport on the laptop, using a displayport to dvi converter (you can get one for around 20 USD on online store).

Did you get the dock new or second hand from ebay, there is a chance that the dvi port on the dock is broken. -----------------------

P.S, if you have switchable graphics then you have to be in the ati graphics mode to use the dvi port on the dock. Intel mode won't support dvi port.
