T510 not recognizing SSD on external USB

2015-12-20, 22:29 PM

I recently upgraded my T510 with Toshiba 128Gb SSD to Samsung 500Gb EVO and put the original Toshiba microSATA with its 2.5 caddy in a Dyconn USB storage enclosure.  Neither my Laptop or my Desktop will recognize the external SSD.  I used the supplied USB 3 cable and also a USB2 cable to no avail.

I had cloned the Samsung SSD from the Toshiba SSD using Apricorn's EZ Gig IV Cloning Software and the supplied USB to 2.5 SATA cable.  Could this be the issue?  The T510 boots fine and accesses all files... it just won't recognize the USB drive. (It does not install a driver)

Found the problem was the carrier.  Used another product to mount the SSD and everything works.

This helped me too
