T510 "0190 battery error"

2018-05-16, 17:28 PM
  • Hello

I have my T510 that I bought in 2011 that when turned on it displays '0190 critical battery error' on a black screen then shuts off.

I never use the battery always with a power cord and I tried using it with just the power cord but doesn't work.

Do I replace the battery or power cord? Which battery do I need or power cord?

Thank you!

My guess is that the power adapter has died and the machine ran as long as the battery lasted.

The other choice is that the motherboard power circuitry has gotten sick,  I say this because you indicated that it will not start with no battery while plugged in.

I don't understand why the laptop wouldn't work with only the power cord without the battery.  I mean, it turns on to show me the error message.

Does anyone know what battery would work with my laptop on Amazon?

it should work with just the power cord.  (battery pulled out)  If it won't, problem is motherboard or power supply  If it says low battery error with no battery, problem is motherboard.  If it won't start with no battery, problem is probably power supply.

So I bought a battery on Amazon however while plugged in the battery doesn't charge so now I'm thinking the power brick is done with.

I have the American version T510 and I'm currently in Italy ?? I used it with an adaptor for the plug.  Which power brick should I buy? Can I buy one that has by default the Italian plug or has to be the American plug?

Thanks.

Any one will work and you can swap the wall cord and keep the brick if you go somewhere with a different plug configuration..

Ok yes but I don't have an Italian cord. What do I look for when buying a new power brick?
