T520 and Wifi 6

2020-03-25, 22:21 PM

Hi,

I have a T520 and just upgraded my wifi router to Wifi 6 RT-AX88U. All my devices on the network can connect via Wifi except my T520. I keep reading about needing to upgrade Intel Wifi drivers to be able to see AX networks but I can't seem to find any way to upgrade the driver here. I'm running Windows 10. Has anyone had a similar experience and have found a solution?

That router states that it is backward compatible to 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, so it should connect.      You don't mention what WiFi card your T520 has, but you might check for a newer driver at:

You can install 802.11AX AX200 mini PCIe card as long as you flash modded BIOS that removes WLAN whitelist, for proper 802.11ax experience. Mini PCIe Intel 7260 is not much cheaper and will require modded BIOS to work in T520 anyway, so better get the best card you can install in the machine instead of ancient junk.
