Hi All,

For what it's worth, I have a T540p+Ultradock plugged into a 90 Watt 12013.07 Rev-300 AC adapter and have never had this problem.

I would point to the ultra dock, have an x240 with ultra dock 90w and have the same issue with the monitor on DVI/Displayport, VGA works fine.

Power supply: 90w 2013.06 rev C

Cannot confirm that 1x 90 Watt, "2013.07", Rev: "300" -> error-free is working, have the same issue over and over again.

Also disabling speedstep does not bring any joy...

Hi alan_d,

please confirm, that your problem looks like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsVSycSX3l0

This topic is about the T440p and T540p machines - and as far as i know, the problem just accours with quad-core machines. So i think, your problem with a dual-core x240 may have an other cause - thus you have problems with a 90 Watts Adapter, that solves the problem on the T440p and T540p and furthermore disabling SpeedStep has no effect, what solves the problem of the T440p and T540p.

Hi Lui-Kim

I can confirm it looks like this, although the display does not disappear for so long, only 3-4 seconds, and only the digital one. I know this is not the x240 forum but as we use the same dock (I guess) I thought maybe my input could/would help.

Yes, this one too. A brand-new T540p exhibiting this problem from day 1.

It could be the power adaptors. I've tried two different ones (each 135W, 2013.05 rev.100 and 2013.11 rev.100) with the same results.

I don't think it's the dock as this still happens with either adaptor plugged directly into the laptop. But when it does happen, all connections to the dock are lost including USB etc so I don't think it's just due to having external monitors connected.

Most likely it's a driver problem as it seems to coincide with failure to recognise USB devices/hubs. Each time the drop to battery settings and USB disconnections only last a few seconds. But annoyingly it seems random ... sometimes I get hours with no "flickers", then loads in the same hour.

I've PM'd NINE. Hopefully if enough of us do this they can track down the problem.

Same Problem here:

T540P 20BE

UltraDock + 135 W adapter

Bios: GMET31WW (1.11 )

VideoDriver: Intels latest for 4600 10.18.10.3345

Nvidia Driver: 312.69

2x HPLA2405x monitors connected via Displayports

Tried both Win7 annd win 8.1, 90w and 135w adapters, clean reinstall and lenovo preinstalled. latest power manager etc. Think I have laid like 30 hours trying to solve this.

HELP Lenovo - I paid 1800 € for this system

Best regards
